How to obtain a Real Estate License

Step by Step Process

First, enroll in real estate Pre-License Real Estate Classes. (check our CLASSES page for upcoming real estate classes)

All Idaho real estate license applicants must:

  • Be 18 or older.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Complete pre-license courses Module 1 and Module 2.
  • Pass state and national portions of appropriate licensing exam at Pearson Vue.
  • Be fingerprinted through Pearson VUE or County Sheriff.
  • Register for Idaho Real Estate Commission (IREC) online account.
  • Once fingerprints clear, send Salesperson Application to the Commission.
  • With approved application ,select an Active Licensed Designated Broker to work with to activate your license.
  • Obtain Errors & Omissions insurance with Broker.
  • Optional: Select a Realtor Association and subscribe to Multiple Listing Service
